Candela is pleased to announce the placement of Peter Federico as Senior Vice President, Information Technology at Electrocomponents.

Peter is a highly experienced Board operator with an impressive track record of building and leading high performing teams across global businesses. Prior to joining Electrocomponents in January 2017, he spent almost five years as Chief Information Officer at The Travel Corporation, a multi-brand travel and leisure group operating across 60 countries. Prior to joining The Travel Corporation, Peter was Group IT Director at bmi airlines and led IT services and operations globally. Peter’s earlier IT career was honed at B&Q and Boots where he held a range of IT leadership roles.

Reporting directly into Alex von Schirmeister, Chief Innovation Officer, Peter joins Electrocomponents accelerate the transformation journey further and to bring a significant change agenda to the function. Given the ever-increasing significance of the Electrocomponents web and mobile-based business, Peter will also drive the development and deployment of the company’s web and mobile presence, leading implementation of web and mobile applications, and planning for risk and growth.

Electrocomponents PLC is a constituent of the FTSE 250 index and operates under the trading name RS Components in Europe and Allied Electronics in North America. The business has had an enviable growth story over the last 18 months effectively doubling the share price and winning ‘Turnaround of the Year’ at the 2016 PLC awards. Peter will be a pivotal member of the leadership team in continuing this growth and preparing the business for expansion, both organically and via acquisition.

Candela Places Eric Hlutke as Chief Security Architect – United Data Architecture – Platform Technologies at Teradata


Candela is delighted to announce the placement of Eric Hlutke as Chief Security Architect – United Data Architecture – Platform Technologies at Teradata.

Teradata is a global leader in analytic data solutions and related services, as well as marketing and analytic applications and works with a large percentage of the Fortune 100. They are a publically traded company with 2015 annual revenue of $2.7 billion and over 11,000 employees worldwide. Teradata’s UDA consists of industry leading Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Aster and Teradata platforms, as well as new and innovative software applications such as QueryGrid and Data Listener.  As Chief Security Architect – UDA, Eric will be responsible for all architecture and high-level designs of security solutions, standards and compliance for UDA platform technologies, providing thought leadership to establish advanced security practices.

Eric joins from Anheuser-Busch InBev, where he was Global Director of IT Security Architecture. In this senior Leadership role, he was responsible for the Global Information Security Strategy, Architecture, Cyber Threat Intelligence and Incident Response program for a $200B+ company, 225+ brands, operating in 78+ countries with 155,000 employees.

Candela Places Drew Miller as VP Marketing North America for Pearson


Candela is pleased to announce the placement of Drew Miller as VP Marketing North America for Pearson.

Sitting directly underneath the President of North America, Drew will lead all marketing efforts for the company’s largest region by revenue. His mission is to help drive transformation across the business as Pearson continues to transition to a technology and digital-first operational mindset and next-generation product and service portfolio. Working closely with Karen Starns, SVP Global Marketing, Drew represents the latest hire in Pearson’s marketing leadership team which has been bolstered recently.

Drew comes from a 15+ year career at Dell where he held a variety of marketing roles across various product groups, regions and functions. He is a former US Army Officer, and joined from his own consultancy where he has been working with a variety of small-mid size organizations establish and mature their marketing organizations to prepare for growth.

Candela Successfully Delivers AstraZeneca Team Build


Candela continues its long standing relationship with FTSE 10 pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca with the placement of three senior technology leaders into its Gaithersburg office.

Sara Yerramilli joins as IT Head – Global Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety, QA and Global Medicines Development reporting to R&D CIO Nick Wright. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Sara spent twenty years with Pfizer in a range of IT leadership roles.

Everett Lee also joins Nick Wright’s team as Global IT Head, Medimmune with remit for delivering IT services to the biotech business unit based in Gaithersburg. Everett joins from Genentech, where he was Head of Development Sciences IT having previously worked for Covance, Eli Lilly and Pfizer.

Gwen January joins the business as Campus IT Infrastructure Director reporting to VP of Global Infrastructure Services Leigh Bennett. Gwen joins from Nike, where she was Senior Director IT, Global End User Services prior to which she worked for Cargill, Johnson & Johnson, Dell and GE.

Sara, Everett and Gwen are all relocating to Gaithersburg where they will become part of a rapidly evolving technology function which is leading the way in innovative transformation. Candela Helps Build Argos' Technology Function With Placement of Wido Riezebos as Head of Software Engineering, Supply Chain and Logisitics


It is with great pleasure that we announce the placement of Wido Riezebos as Head of Software Engineering, Supply Chain and Logistics at Argos. Wido will report to Tom Tang, Director of Software Development. Following a European wide search for what is a very rare skill set within retail where the trend is to outsource development, we are delighted that Wido is joining a rapidly evolving team at one of the UK’s best known and most loved brands.

Wido joins Argos from Eyefreight, a Dutch headquartered leading provider of level 5 SaaS Transportation Management System’s where he served as CTO. He is relocating from Utrecht to the UK and will divide his time between Milton Keynes and the new Argos digital hub based in Victoria, London. We wish Wido, his wife Karen and their family all the best at what is an incredibly exciting time for Argos and them personally.

Candela Places John Kelly As CISO At Elsevier


Candela is delighted to announce the placement of John Kelly as Chief Information Security Officer at Elsevier.

John was hired to oversee the Global Information Security and Risk functions for Elsevier's operations in the Americas and around the Globe. He is responsible for the corporate-wide Cyber Security Practice, cyber security infrastructure and architecture, data security strategies, operational efficacy of security programs, policies, and technology risk management that protect the interests of customers, employees, critical technology assets, company brands and other critical stakeholders. Beyond information security, Elsevier envisage that John will transform what security means to the company and, ultimately, transition the function into its own revenue-generating business.

John joins Elsevier from Comcast where he had end-to-end responsibility for the strategic planning, development and operations for the Security and Legal Demand Posture of the converged Comcast Video, Voice and Data network of over 23 million subscribers. He joined Comcast in 2001 from Cigna. John is based out of Elsevier’s Philadelphia office.

Candela is delighted to announce the placement of Graham Fisher as Vice President, Engineering at Reed Business Information (RBI).

With direct sponsorship from the Managing Director of RBI, Dominic Feltham, Graham’s role is critical in the ongoing transformation of RBI into a leading, global data services and software business. He will have end-to-end responsibility for product delivery, driving the pace of software delivery across the company. Graham brings with him the energy and appetite to drive change and transformation and has deep experience of driving technology strategy and product development from a diverse range of complex industries including financial services, leisure and technology.

Candela Places Stephan Zoll as President, Online at Sears


Candela is delighted to announce the placement of Stephan Zoll as President, Online at Sears Holdings Corporation. 

In this role, Stephan will operate directly under a CEO mandate with responsibility for transforming and improving the entire digital customer experience and the means through which Sears leverages ecommerce across all retail formats and business unit categories and functions. He will provide the overarching strategy for online sales growth owning the entire online P&L, all branded websites including the Sears Marketplace, all digital marketing, ecommerce operations, business model innovation and customer experience. The Sears online business is a critical element of the organization’s continued transformation and reiterates CEO, Eddie Lampert’s, commitment to change and ongoing investment into key online, mobile and integrated retail platforms.

Stephan joins Sears from eBay Germany where he served most recently served as VP of eBay Marketplaces [DE]. Some of his notable achievements while in this role include the launch and roll out of key initiatives such as; eBay Plus and eBay’s partnership with the Metro AG group. He also previously held positions with Oliver Wyman and Booz Allen Hamilton. Stephan holds a PhD in Law from the University of Augsburg.

Candela Places Marianne Marck as SVP & CIO at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers


We are delighted to announce that Candela has successfully placed Marianne Marck as SVP & CIO at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers based in Vancouver, Canada. In this position, Marianne will report to Jim Barr, EVP & Group President, Emerging Businesses, Brand Innovation and Technology. As CIO, she will have end-to-end responsibility for all technology initiatives including developing and implementing the corporation’s long-range IT strategy and for leading the company’s investment in developing and managing technology, data and back-office business solutions. She will formulate and implement a digital strategy in support of the company’s goals and financial objectives.

Marianne joins Ritchie Bros. from a progressive five year career with Starbucks where she most recently served as Senior Vice President Customer Facing Technology. In addition to owning all customer facing technology, she was also responsible for regional IT in Asia with direct reports in Hong Kong and Japan. Under her guidance, the coffee giant radically grew in mobile and digital offerings to its global customer base, with the mobile payments platform and solutions she introduced now accounting for over a fifth of all customer transactions globally.

Prior to her tenure at Starbucks, Marianne spent three years with Blue Nile, Inc., an online retailer of diamonds and fine jewelry. She also previously held positions with Walt Disney Internet Group, CNET Networks and IBM.  

Candela Supports Stage Stores in the Placement of Jay Basnight as VP Digital Marketing


Candela is excited to announce the placement of Jay Basnight as Vice President Digital Marketing at Stage Stores. Jay will lead all online marketing channels for the organization and sub-brands reporting directly to Bill Gentner, CMO. Jay’s appointment follows the recent hire of Mike Smith as SVP Omnichannel as the multi-billion dollar retailer seeks to increase its presence in online retail as well as continue to drive traffic in-store as it moves towards a truly integrated retail model.

Jay joins Stage Stores from Dick's Sporting Goods where he held a similar position leading online marketing channels. His earlier career is steeped in retail, and his previous tenures include roles at Puma and Wayfair.
